Black Thingies Mystery on Sukhumvit~!!

THE CURIOSITY IS KILLING MEEEEEEEEEH~~!!!!!!!!!

Just... What... Are... These... Guys... Doing~??

They opened a manhole in a parking lot inside a building in Thonglo (Sukhumvit 55).

And then they dumped a whole bunch of black thingies into the manhole.

The black thingies were piled up a few steps away from the manhole.

The workers scooped up the black thingies into a bucket, brought the bucket to the opened manhole and dumped the thingies into the manhole.

Then they returned to the pile, scooped up more black thingies and dumped them into the manhole again.

(I used flash coz it was at night):

WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE BLACK THINGIES~??

AND WHY WERE THEY BEING DUMPED INTO THE MANHOLE~??

Two good questions.

They are obviously "Man made" but what the heck they could be used for is at the moment beyond me. Secondly I have no idea why they should be dumped in a manhole.

I actually touched them, and they felt HARD, more metal-like than rubber-like.

Yes it does. Perhapse they're meant to be used by Sewage creatures to hide their eggs in lol.

Oh I did, but I didn't understand what they said, la. I asked them "What's this/that?" and they said something like "Luuk pan" or something like that (*scratches head*)

Hey, where's your journalist's instinct? Why didn't ask for more details? I can't think of anything sounds like luuk pan in Thai.
