So, I've been accused of pandering too much to the hi-so people of Sukhumvit. The proof? Recently I've been blabbing about aaaaaaaaall the things that cost too much (as well as toooo "academic"), such as:
1). Big 'waste-of-time-and-money' Echo Karaoke (read it and ) 2). Restaurants like MK 'burn-your-dough-into-steam' Gold (read it ) 3). Capitalist art exhibitions on (European) cows (read it ), which will encourage people to eat costly beef instead of khao niew (sticky rice, a staple of Isaan food). And with all the rising prices (example: some motorcycle taxis now ask for 15 baht instead of 10 baht), my less-moneyed readers have been feeling a bit left out.
Therefore, to turn this elitist tide around, may I present to you the glowing food review of:
The baami (egg noodles) dude in front of the 7-11 shop around the pak soi (mouth of the soi) of Thonglo (Sukhumvit 55)~!!
(sorry for the too-long title; didn't know what else to call it).
Come rain or shine, this devoted baami dude is perched right in front of the FIRST 7-11 shop in Thonglo (so if you enter from the main Sukhumvit Road, he'll be on your left side), and he serves customers waaay into late at night (perfect for when you get the munchies after hard partyin' with the homies~!!). His specialty is (obviously) egg noodles with moo daeng (literal meaning: red pork), which you can eat either dry or with soup (pictured right).
His noodles are always consistently firm, his vegetables crunchy and his meat tasty (PLEASE try to read that sentence with a PURE mind~!!) *snicker*
I myself prefer my baami to be haeng (dry); somehow the taste is bolder when you don't pour the soup in. I drink the soup later, when I'm done with the noodles (his soup is always very peppery and addictive~!!).

Highly recommended: you can create your own "taste" by mixing the various condiments pictured here below: dried chilli, chilli and vinegar, peanut powder and sugar.
Don't forge t the nam pla (fish sauce), pictured left - it's guaranteed to fire up your appetite~!! And don't worry about the roadside pollution (pictured right) - all those airborne particles serve as "the last secret ingredient" responsible for giving your baami that extra "oomph"~!! With just 30 baht a bowl (actually, it used to be 25 baht per bowl, damn inflation~!!), you can afford to eat TWO or THREE servings in one sitting~!! Then if you're still not full (you might want to get yourself checked first for having worms in your stomach)... often there's this sausage seller who hangs around next to the baami dude (pictured at the bottom) - the perfect bite-sized snack to (temporarily) plug the bottomless pit that is your tummy~!!
Oh, and did I mention that the 7-11 shop is just a few steps away~?!
Hello~~ cheap and plentiful booze to wash it aaaaaall down~~!!
You can also get plenty of free entertainment right there on the sidewalk; like watching a pachyderm negotiating his way around or pervin' on some pretty young thangs coming out of the Raz Bar, which is directly opposite~!!

Cheap and yummy "main course" plus extra "snack", never-ending alcohol AND free entertainment (with eye-candy to boot~!!)... what else could anyone ask for~?!
(Did I hear some smartass say "aircon"~?!)streetsmartsukhumvit@gmail.com sukhumvit bangkok thailand | Hmmmmmmmmm so you are not just an Emporium kind of girl eh? ;) |

No, KSL is on the same side as Siripinyo Building (the two are separated by only a few buildings).
Heeeey... I've heard so much bad stuff about Ratchaprarop Mansion... is it true that the place is full of "undesirable" foreigners~?? (Except you, of coz~!! Hee hee hee...). |

on my stay there, everything seems to be alright though :P
|
 | ahh the myterious sounds at night... due to the fact that the majority of people sleeps at night. not much cars on the streets. our ears become very sensitive to silence that engulfs our night. hence we hear these STRANGE sounds.
we tend to hear the slow screeching sounds of doors, windows and cabins. the tick-tocks of clocks and even these nifty, tiny watches.
women feeling pleasure is another thing. after they open the fridge at night. before they go to bed. the sound of a lady drinking water. you'll hear very clearly the sound of water passing thru the throat. ok so men do that as well. :P |
 | sorry for the late response. ive been working on finishing my stuff before i prepare to fly "home" :p |
 | Aaaaaaah~~~~ I seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....~~!!!! I am one step closer to enlightenment~~~!!!!!! Thank you, O Generous One~!!! |

 | So I'm your apprentice, eh~?? |
 | uhm... iono... you know more a lot than me about sukhumvit, i am your grasshopper whenever i'm there. |
 | I see, I see... since we were talking about the wonders of "mysterious sounds at night"... and since YOU are the expert guru on THAT topic HAHAHAHAHA~~~!!!
Unfortunately, grasshoppers usually end up being fried on Sukhumvit Road WAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA~~~!!!! |
 | OMFG! hahahaha! i cant be your grasshopper while im a sukhumvitite, you or other people will eat me haha! |
 | OK, you can be a cockroach instead... oh waitaminit, that's no good either... I always smash cockroaches who are unfortunate to cross my path... or worse... melt them with acid and gleefully watch while the thing descend a slow and painful death... shucks... |
 | awful!!!! i cant be your insect |
 | hahahaha...
